Verdict for aerospace and defence buyers
Aerospace quality adds obligations that general manufacturing does not carry in the same form. AS9100 builds on ISO 9001 with tighter expectations around traceability, configuration, supplier control and documented evidence, and prime contractors pass requirements down supply chains through flow downs that a supplier must be able to prove, not merely promise. First article inspection records, often shortened to FAI, nonconformance history and supplier approvals need to be retrievable years later.
This shortlist gives detailed sections to four products and adds two more in the table. QT9 QMS offers the broadest module set for smaller suppliers. Octave Reliance, formerly ETQ Reliance, offers a configurable enterprise platform. Ideagen offers multi standard cover including AS9100 as a vendor claim. MasterControl offers deep document control, although its evidence base is life sciences rather than aerospace. ComplianceQuest appears in the table because its sheet evidences AS9100, and Intelex appears with a caution in the evidence note. The wider market is covered in the best QMS software comparison.
Scores here are desk research totals from published evidence only, not hands on testing, following how we evaluate QMS software.

Suppliers should also read the best QMS software for manufacturing list, and anyone budgeting should use the QMS software pricing guide, because none of the six publishes a firm price.
QT9 QMS: accessible AS9100 cover for smaller suppliers
The vendor AS9100 page and industries material state support for AS9100, as a vendor claim, alongside ISO 9001, ISO 13485, ISO 14001, ISO 17025 and IATF 16949. All ten core modules are evidenced, including document control, CAPA, audit management, training, supplier quality, complaint handling, change control, nonconformance, risk and calibration management. For a tier two or tier three supplier, supplier quality plus traceable document and nonconformance records in one all in package is the practical strength.
A free trial is available, which matters when a small supplier needs to test whether FAI paperwork, flow down requirements and audit evidence can be held in the workflows provided. Full detail is in our QT9 QMS review.
The weakness is depth at the top end and price visibility. A prime or large tier one organisation may find a general mid market platform less configurable than an enterprise system. Pricing is not published, licensed per concurrent user per year. ITQlick estimates, labelled as estimates only, are 1,700 to 2,200 dollars per user per year.
Octave Reliance: configurable enterprise platform
Octave Reliance is positioned for enterprise manufacturing, with aerospace named among its sectors. The vendor electronics page says users can stay audit ready for ISO, IATF, AS9100 and telecom requirements, reported here as a vendor claim, and its material describes more than 40 applications including document control, CAPA, audit management, training and supplier quality on a cloud native SaaS architecture. All ten core modules are evidenced.
The aerospace strength is configurability at scale. Large manufacturers with several programmes and customer specific flow downs usually need workflows they can configure, plus integrations evidenced here with ERP, MES, connected worker platforms, Power BI and Tableau. Our Octave Reliance review covers the platform and its validation package, which the vendor describes as a self validation package or consulting services.
The weakness is cost and effort for smaller firms. G2 pricing material describes a single concurrent user platform tier with costs only via vendor contact and paid add ons, and reviewer evidence noted cost concerns for small and mid market companies. No published price or credible third party estimate was found. A small supplier should expect an enterprise sales cycle, not a quick start.
Ideagen: AS9100 within a multi standard estate
The vendor standards page lists AS9100 among its supported standards, as a vendor claim, alongside ISO 9001, ISO 13485, ISO 17025, IATF 16949 and 21 CFR Part 11, and its FAQ adds ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. Capterra lists aerospace and defence among its heavily regulated sectors. All ten core modules are evidenced, and its guide brings document control, audit, CAPA, reporting, training, risk, supplier, customer and asset management into one system.
For a defence group that also holds environmental and safety standards, that combined estate is the strength: one audit, supplier and document system for several standards. Detail is in our Ideagen review.
The weakness is usability and transparency. Ease of use scored 7.2 out of 10 and pricing transparency 4.8 out of 10 in our desk research, no free trial was evidenced, and pricing is quote based only. A single programme supplier needing AS9100 workflows live quickly should test implementation effort carefully.
MasterControl: strong process control, weaker aerospace evidence
MasterControl Quality Excellence is a life sciences product in its vendor descriptions, aimed at pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device manufacturers, with mid market and enterprise fit. Modules evidenced include document control, CAPA, change control, complaint handling, nonconformance, risk, supplier quality, training and audit management, and the vendor describes a patented validation tool. Its document and quality event depth is the transferable strength for any regulated firm under audit scrutiny. See our MasterControl review for the evidence.
The aerospace specific weakness must be stated plainly. AS9100, IATF 16949, ISO 45001 and ISO 17025 were not evidenced for this product in the sheet, and its listed standards are ISO 9001, ISO 13485, ISO 14001, FDA 21 CFR 820, FDA 21 CFR Part 11 and EU GMP. Calibration was also not evidenced for Quality Excellence itself. An aerospace buyer would therefore be relying on general ISO 9001 strength, not evidenced AS9100 support. Pricing is not published and no free trial was evidenced.
ComplianceQuest, in the table only, deserves a note: its vendor manufacturing page evidences AS9100 alongside ISO 17025, with all ten modules including calibration, so Salesforce based groups should not overlook it.
Who should skip this list
Skip this list if you hold no AS9100 ambition and face no flow downs, because a simpler ISO 9001 system will cost less effort. Skip MasterControl if evidenced AS9100 support is a pass or fail criterion. Skip every product here if you need a published price, since all six are quote based.
Evidence note and practical question
Ratings, modules, standards and pricing evidence were checked on 21 October 2026 from the G2 and Capterra listings and vendor pages in our data sheet. Standards support is reported as vendor claims, not certification by this site. ComplianceQuest AS9100 support is evidenced on its vendor manufacturing page. Intelex AS9100 evidence is weaker: AS9100 appears in its sheet entry among global quality standards examples on a vendor QMS page, weaker than a direct support claim, so Intelex is included for completeness and should be verified first with the vendor. Scores are desk research totals across five weighted criteria.
Practical question: take one customer flow down, one FAI pack and one supplier nonconformance from last year, and ask each vendor to show where each record would live, who could change it, and how you would retrieve all three for a customer audit in five years. The answers will separate evidenced traceability from brochure language faster than any feature list.
