Calibration belongs on evidence, not reputation
Calibration management looks simple until an assessor asks for the status of one instrument on one date. The system must hold the asset register, calibration intervals and due dates, certificates and results, out of tolerance history, and the link from equipment to the measurements, batches or test results it supported. Guidance in our explainer on ISO 10012 measurement management describes the measurement management system that sits behind those records.
This page applies a strict rule. Only platforms whose data sheet entry marks calibration as true are shortlisted. That produces a shorter, more honest list than reputation would suggest. Calibration was not evidenced for MasterControl Quality Excellence or Qualio in this check, so they are excluded despite their size. For MasterControl, calibration evidence related to other portfolio products, not Quality Excellence, and for Qualio none was found on pages checked. Exclusion means not evidenced for that product, nothing more.
Totals are desk research scores from published evidence only, never hands on testing, under how we evaluate QMS software. Laboratory teams should also read QMS software for laboratories, and the full market view is the best QMS software comparison.

| Intellect QMS | Calibration evidenced true, calibration management in Capterra feature list and calibration app material | ISO 9001, ISO 13485, ISO 17025, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, GMP | G2 4.6 out of 5 from 94 reviews; Capterra 4.6 out of 5 from 84 reviews | 8.1 out of 10 |
| QT9 QMS | Calibration evidenced true, as Equipment and Calibration Management on vendor module lists | ISO 9001, ISO 13485, ISO 14001, ISO 17025, AS9100, IATF 16949, FDA 21 CFR 820, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, EU GMP, EU MDR | G2 4.8 out of 5 from 125 reviews; Capterra 4.8 out of 5 from 126 reviews | 8.5 out of 10 |
Other sheet entries also mark calibration true, including ComplianceQuest, Octave Reliance and Intelex, but the five above give the clearest spread by organisation type for a dedicated shortlist.
AssurX: calibration inside a complete regulated suite
AssurX has no profile page on this site, so this section stands alone. Vendor case and solution material lists calibration management among its capabilities, and every other core module is also evidenced, from CAPA and change control to complaints and supplier quality. For a regulated enterprise that wants equipment records governed with the same approvals and audit trail as its quality events, that completeness is the argument.
Deployment covers cloud and on premise, and pricing is quote based with nothing published, described by Capterra as contact vendor. Review counts are modest, at 14 on G2 and 25 on Capterra, though ratings are high. Ask for the out of tolerance workflow specifically: what happens to linked measurements and open jobs when an instrument fails calibration is the question that separates a register from a management system.
SimplerQMS: equipment calibration for life science SMBs
SimplerQMS evidences calibration directly, through a vendor equipment page confirming an equipment management and calibration capability. It is aimed at small and medium sized life science organisations, and its pricing is unusually visible: the vendor pricing page states 17,500 dollars annually as a minimum, covering up to 15 users, with implementation, validation, data migration, training, hosting and support included per vendor wording. The vendor also states IQ, OQ and PQ validation services are included in every plan.
Our SimplerQMS review records the full evidence and a conflict in third party material over free trial availability, where the vendor statement of free guided trials was used. Its desk research total of 8.9 out of 10 is the highest here. The caution is audience: a general manufacturer with no life science obligations may pay for validation depth it never uses.
Ideagen: asset records across sites and standards
Ideagen evidences calibration through asset management in its vendor product guide, which plans services, calibrations and safety tests. That asset framing suits organisations where equipment assurance sits beside audits, training, risk and supplier records across several sites and standards, including ISO 17025 as a vendor claim. All core modules are evidenced.
Our Ideagen review covers deployment recorded as cloud and on premise, quote based pricing with nothing published, and no free trial evidenced. Ease scored 7.2 out of 10 in desk research, so a small single site team should weigh administration effort against breadth. Test the asset record with a multipoint instrument and a shortened interval after a failure, not just a simple annual gauge.
Intellect: configurable calibration for manufacturers
Intellect evidences calibration management in its Capterra feature list, and its calibration material adds ISO 17025 in that app context. The platform emphasises no code configurability, cloud or on premise deployment, and validated out of the box applications with validation plans and automated testing scripts per vendor wording. Manufacturers whose equipment types do not fit fixed templates will value that configurability.
Our Intellect review notes that vendor pricing was not verified in this check. A third party listing via G2, stated as pricing provided by Intellect, lists Core starting at 26,000 dollars per year for five core users, recorded here as a listing figure, not a vendor published price. Free trial evidence conflicted in the sheet, so confirm trial access directly before planning an evaluation around it.
QT9 QMS: equipment and calibration in an all in package
QT9 names the capability Equipment and Calibration Management on its vendor module lists, and it arrives inside an all in model where all modules are included at one price, licensed per concurrent user per year. For a mid sized manufacturer tired of module by module negotiation, holding calibration beside document control, training, CAPA and nonconformance in one package simplifies both buying and auditing.
Detail is in our QT9 QMS review, including the vendor statement that the system is pre-validated at no extra cost and that a free trial is available. The vendor does not publish pricing; ITQlick estimates, labelled as estimates only, range from 1,700 to 2,200 dollars per user per year. Use the trial with your real asset register, including overdue and quarantined instruments, and check due date alerts and certificate attachment before anything else.
Evidence note and practical question
Evidence note: calibration flags, standards, ratings, counts and desk research totals come from the product data sheet checked on 21 October 2026. Frontmatter sources are the Capterra page for AssurX and the G2 page for SimplerQMS named there. The exclusions of MasterControl Quality Excellence and Qualio are stated from the same check, where calibration was not evidenced for those products. Vendor standards are vendor claims, not certification by this site.
Practical question: choose one instrument that failed calibration last year and trace, on paper, everything that failure should have triggered, from quarantine to impact assessment on prior results. Then require each finalist to perform that trace live. The gap between the two exercises is your real selection criterion.
